September Newsletter from Maize!
Just an update on what I'm working on this month.
You have one chance to see me as part of an event this month. On the Friday the 26th of Sep, I’ll be talking on a panel with German composer, Johannes Kriedler and some other local electronic artists in a collaboration with Liquid Architecture and Media Lab Melbourne. There’ll be an artist talk by Johannes, and then the panel on the role of tech as a tool and medium in art. This will be held within the arts precinct in Melbourne.
Last month I pulled off the longest event I’ve had to do! The Game Art Melbourne Exhibition went for a month and had specialised showcases each Tuesday. It was an amazing experience and I am thoroughly exhausted. Thank you to everyone who participated, and if anyone didn’t make it in, you can see info on the Glitchmark website. |

This month I am concentrating on four different film scores. Yesterday I finished the score for Christel Chia’s short film Mightier Than The Sword. We are currently fine tuning the score for Constantine Ballis’ short documentary Look On, and I am currently recording and workshopping the score for another of his films, Lavender and Tangerine: A Drama in Four Movements. I have been working with Constantine for around two years and it’s incredibly exciting to continue our work together into what will be both of our’s first feature film. Constantine is currently exhibiting a multimedia work at D11 and also writes on film. |

I’ll also be heading to New York at the end of this month as a part of the Global Atelier project at the Victorian College of the Arts. I’ll be visiting and working with the New School in New York, Yale, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and many more small indie studios. I also hope to maybe play a few gigs while I’m up there!
